Dr Ann Van Eetvelt

Job Title:
Regional Advisor - North of Scotland

Biography

Ann is a veterinary surgeon, PhD student and researcher who is very passionate about sheep.

Ann started her career as a mixed vet but after buying Lurgan farm, a hill farm in Aberfeldy with 800 blackie ewes and 20 Luing cattle, she decided to start on her own as a sheep vet / consultant.

Ann finished her RCVS CertAVP modules but is still organising the synoptic exam to get the (sheep) behind it. In October last year she started a part time PhD at Edinburgh University looking into the effect of Co-infections on metabolic status and how this effects lamb survival in hill farms. Her main passion is improving the productivity and profitability in hill farms by reducing losses between scanning and weaning.

Ann is also part of the Sheep Veterinary Society, BVA Scotland, NSA Scotland and her local NFU group.
