This webinar will cover Louping Ill (LIV), including the following speakers:

David Attwell and Ian Duncan Millar will cover their experiences of the virus as farmers.

David has worked for HFP since 2018 initially as the Events and Training Officer and more recently in a Land Management Advisory role. He has a broad range of farming and environmental experience and is a strong advocate for traditional family farms.

Ian has farmed sheep on his family farm in Perthshire for more than 50 years and is regarded by many as one of the most exemplary leaders within the UK sheep industry today. Ian was named as the recipient of the NSA George Hedley Award in 2022 recognising outstanding contribution to the UK sheep sector. In 2023 Ian lost 70 of his 500-strong flock of EasyCare ewes, a devastating loss of important breeding stock with a significant financial implication.

Caroline Millins, from Liverpool University, will discuss her areas of expertise, in Livestock and One Health. She has a raft of tick and tick borne disease (TBD) experience, most recently through OpTick and TickSolve. Her expertise will add a very interesting dimension to the webinar focus.

Dr Beth Wells, from Moredun, will cover the newly developed vaccine and how you can support it.

More information to come shortly.
