Consultation on Cattle Identification and Traceability in Scotland

The consultation on cattle identification and traceability in Scotland is now live.

This consultation will seek views on various topics surrounding cattle identification and traceability. The consultation will also seek views on the industry proposal for the introduction of Ultra-High Frequency (UHF) technology.

We are keen to hear from a wide range of interests including cattle keepers, markets, abattoirs, Scottish local authorities and other industry bodies and representatives.

The consultation document is supported by a partial BRIA (Business and Regulatory Impact Assessment) which contains information including options to consider, trade, and estimated costs of equipment and tags.

Please use the links below to access the consultation document and the partial BRIA.
