Biography
Ballantrae, Ayrshire. John served on the South of Scotland Regional Wool Committee for four years and is also the past chairman of the Scottish Association of Farmers Markets. He is an honorary member of the BVA and an associate of the Royal Agricultural Society.
John was elected to the Scottish Parliament in 2000 as a member for Ayr. He is the Shadow Cabinet Secretary for the Scottish Conservative Party for rural affairs and the environment.
John has been made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the Queens New Year 2022 Honours list
