Animal Husbandry Technician

Reference: 26-02-25

Salary: £24,309 per annum

Closing date: 12/03/2025

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Animal Husbandry Technician to join our friendly and supportive team working in a multi-species (small and farm animal) department. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain specialist experience in animal care and facility management while contributing to important veterinary research projects.

In this role you will have the opportunity to assist in the care and welfare of a variety of animal species, including feeding, watering, and ensuring their accommodation is clean and comfortable. Maintain top-tier hygiene standards using advanced cleaning and sterilising equipment. Work both independently and as part of a close-knit team to ensure the smooth running of the facility. Some weekend work will be required however overtime pay is provided.

Due to the nature of the work, biosecurity measures must be followed, meaning contact with farm animals, rodents, and rabbits outside of work should be carefully managed.

Experience required

You will have the opportunity to receive full training, no prior experience is needed, just a passion for animal care. College-based distance learning may be available and career development opportunities. A valid driving license is beneficial to make use of company vehicles but not essential.
