About the role

We are recruiting a highly motivated postdoctoral scientist to join our Vaccines and Diagnostics Department at the world leading Moredun Research Institute. This is a fixed-term contract of three years.

Infectious diseases in livestock are a major animal welfare issue and cost the pig industry millions of pounds every year through both morbidity and mortality. The post-holder may be required to develop or adapt methods to solve problems and meet experimental objectives.

Experience required

The successful applicant will have a PhD in a related area (e.g. Microbiology, Immunology or Virology) and experience in in propagating viruses as well as knowledge in basic and molecular virology work (for example sequencing, PCR, phylogenetic analysis, infectious clone production, protein expression or others).
