Biography
Alan graduated with a bachelor of technology in Agriculture in 2001 from SAC Craibstone,
Following a year experience of working in New Zealand, he returned to join partnership in his family farm.
Responsible for managing the livestock enterprise for 20 years. Running a high health herd of 170 self-replacing cows and flock of 400 self-replacing ewes.
Interest include regenerative farming, certain practices have been implemented within the livestock enterprise such as herbal ley pastures and rotational grazing. This has improved resilience and reduced requirement for grass fertilizers.
Keen to benchmark and improve efficiencies, active member of a north are monitor farm group for 10 years.
