Stephen Mackenzie

Job Title:
Regional Advisor - North of Scotland

Biography

Stephen studied engineering and worked in the industry for several years before returning home to the family farm west of Muir of Ord, where he runs 300 ewes and 100 beef cattle with his brother and wife.

He has always viewed his farm as a classroom – where he can learn how to do things better and has attempted to simplify the operation by adapting conventional methods alongside modern practice. The farm was recently one of the Climate Change Focus Farms, regularly hosts Royal Highland Education Trust (RHET) visits and is involved in the Rural Skills Program.

Off farm, Stephen is a Ross County FC fan, enjoys mentoring young business people, is actively involved in Black Isle Farmers Society and works at developing renewable energy projects.
